Classic British "shoebox" amplifier. There has been a lot written about these, mostly about how good they are and yes I agree; fantastic sound quality, quality components use throughout, well built all round. they do need a little TLC after many years of service. The two deep red non-polarised capacitors always need replacing they are under the wide wire loom, 470uF 6 volt, they are best replaced with polarised 470uf of almost any higher voltage, I had 63 volt one handy, they will last for....many years as the the voltage on these capacitors is very small. You can see the damage in the old ones, cracked around the tops and they measured only a few nanofarads, way out of spec. The sound coming from the speakers was very low volume with very little bass, megaphone sounding; both channels affected slightly differently. This example has a pressed metal chassis with a plastic top case, some have a cast metal top case and a cast metal chassis.
