A very nice amplifier using MOSFET output devices. I've had this one quite a while and started to repair it, it had the output devices blown on one channel. after ordering the new MOSFET outputs, they took some time to arrive for some reason, I put it aside and left it for a while, I finally installed the devices and went about rechecking every other component likely to have been damaged before powering it up, some MOSFET amplifiers don't like to be started at a low voltage, from a variac, to test and I was wary about this one so laboriously checked, in circuit as best I could, every semiconductor resister and capacitor; past experience told me some unexpected items sometimes cause a failure or are taken out when there is a failure. The line amplifier modules are in aluminium "boxes" standing upright from the board, I was weary of these but the when opening them found all discrete components so that if they go wrong repair should be possible, no exotic unobtanium parts inside.
Once repaired this amplifier was tested long term, I just really liked the sound of it; it's not very powerful but has no problem driving normal efficiency speakers to loud levels, and with no loss of quality, MOSFET amps have a special place in my heart they are lovely and detailed, good bass with sweet treble; as well as the sound stage and depth playing through some Castle Tay speakers, small two way bookshelves, was astonishing.
